The February 2016 Ottawa real estate statistics increased by 7.2 percent from February 2015, with a total of 911 residential properties sold. Despite the not so pleasant weather- sales continued to grow. Of those 911 sales, 712 of them were residential, and 199 of them were condominiums.
According to the president of the Ottawa Real Estate Board (OREB) Shane Silva, "We’re starting to see more homes coming onto the market in preparation for the busy spring selling season. If you’re thinking of putting your home on the market, this is a great time to do so".
The sale price of residential homes has increased from last February by 1.2 percent, with an average of $384,632 in February 2016. Condominium prices have not had the same increase, but have instead declined slightly by 6.8 percent from last February, with an average of $249,727 in February 2016.
